The first edition of the Global Meeting and Expo on Renewable Energy Sun World 2019 and the IV Week of Energy will be held at the Lima Convention Center in Lima, Peru, from November 12 to 14, 2019.
These events will be chaired by the Peruvian Ministry of Energy and Mines, the International Solar Alliance (ISA) and the Latin American Energy Organization (Olade), and will gather for the first time in Peru the representatives of ISA member countries, representatives of Olade member countries, authorities from Latin America and the Caribbean, more than 70 national and international experts, leaders, representatives from institutions and international cooperation organizations to discuss the importance of the use of Renewable Energy and analyze the current applications of solar energy in the different areas of the economic spectrum in the Region. Sun World 2019 will allow us to analyze the progress of the insertion of solar power and its implementation in Latin America, as well as position Peru as a solar technology hub, a leader in capacity development, and a model in the implementation of solar technology.
Sun World 2019 will become Peru a benchmark country to attract investments in solar power and achieve greater use of renewable energy.
The event will feature more than 70 sessions in diverse formats such as presentations, talks, panel discussions, board of experts, bilateral meetings, business meetings and an important exhibition that will involve local and international companies. During this event, there will be meetings that will foster business networking and capacity building with the private sector.
This initiative contributes significantly to the Peruvian State to provide with energy to remote communities of the country.
The International Solar Alliance (ISA for its acronym in English) is a group of 121 countries with high potential for generating solar energy resources, located between the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn, which seeks to deploy more than 1,0000 Gigawatts of solar energy and mobilize more than USD 1,000 million for 2030.
The Ministry of Energy and Mines of Peru (MINEM) and ISA signed in December 2018 an agreement of interinstitutional cooperation for the organization of this event.
