Sun World 2019 will bring together state ministers and senior officials from 121 countries of the International Solar Alliance in November.
Through Supreme Decree No. 005-2019-EM, published in the official gazette El Peruano, the Government declared the organization and execution of the event entitled ” World Exhibition of Renewable ISA-Peru-LAC (Sun World 2019),” which will be held in Lima, from November 12 to 14, 2019.
It should be noted that the Peruvian Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM) and the International Solar Alliance (ISA for its acronym in English) signed on December 4, 2018 an agreement of inter-institutional executive cooperation to carry out this event, which will allow Peru to become a benchmark country to attract investments in solar energy and learn about the latest advances in technology for the use of alternative energies.
The Minister of Energy and Mines, Francisco Ísmodes Mezzano, said that as the host country for this global event, Peru seeks to promote the development of renewable energies in Latin America and help with the provision of energy to the most distant areas of the country.
ISA is a group of 121 countries with high potential for generating solar energy resources, located between the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn, which seeks to deploy more than 1,0000 Gigawatts of solar energy and mobilize more than USD 1,000 million for the solar energy for 2030. Besides, Peru was chosen to occupy one of the four vice presidencies of the Alliance for the period 2018-2020, for the Latin America and the Caribbean region.
